Lindsay Roe
As a passionate energy industry leader with over 15 years of experience, Lindsay Roe drives digital transformation and innovation in the oil and gas sector while championing balanced, practical solutions for a sustainable future. She is Director of Digital Innovation at Core Laboratories and President and Interim CEO of Allies in Energy.
Lindsay is committed to fostering collaboration, driving innovation, and facilitating the exchange of ideas to address the complex challenges faced by the energy sector.
Sarah Magruder
Sarah Magruder is the founder, owner, president and CEO of Houston-based Savvy Oil & Gas Consulting, a company that specializes in severance tax and federal, state and sovereign royalties. Challenging industry norms, she launched her women-led consulting business in 2019.
Sarah was recently appointed Vice President with Allies in Energy overseeing our inaugural community partner program.
Magruder serves on the board of directors and is an executive member of the Women’s Energy Network (WEN). She holds a degree in finance from Louisiana State University and an MBA from University of Houston-Victoria.
Elizabeth (Liz) Franzen
Elizabeth Franzen is an Audit senior manager in KPMG LLP’s Houston office. She has more than nine years of audit experience and has served a Fortune 500 company. She serves public and private consumer and industrial markets clients, upstream oil & gas clients, nuclear power & gas and oil-field services clients. Her technical accounting knowledge and knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 requirements provide valuable insights.
Liz is the Treasurer of Allies in Energy.
Katie Mehnert
The modern architect of the energy workforce, Katie Mehnert is the Founder and CEO of ALLY Energy™ the community accelerating connections, jobs, and skills to drive an equitable energy transition.
She was appointed as Ambassador to the United States Department of Energy during the Trump Administration and was most recently re-appointed by the Biden Administration to the National Petroleum Council. Ms. Mehnert is a speaker, author, and trusted source in the energy industry. She has been published in Scientific American, Forbes, The Hill, CNBC, and CNN.
Katie is the Founder of Allies in Energy and serves on the Board of Directors. She's also inaugural co-chair of Houston Energy & Climate Week.
Juliana Garaizar
Juliana Garaizar is Founding Partner at Energy Tech Nexus. A Board Member of the Angel Capital Association, Juliana is a Lead Investor of the Portfolia Rising America Fund. She is also an Advisory Board Member of the Wells Fargo Innovation Incubator, the Latinx Startup Alliance, the Houston Diversity Fund, the Investors of Color network, the French Tech and Impulse4women.
Juliana was previously Chief Development and Investment Officer for Greentown Labs, the Texas Medical Center Venture Fund Director and the Managing Director of the Houston Angel Network. Juliana obtained an MBA at the London Business School and Haas School of Business in Berkeley, specializing in Entrepreneurship.
Juliana is co-chair of this year's inaugural Houston Energy & Climate Week.
Monica Krishnan
Monica Krishnan is board member with Allies in Energy.
She attended University of Houston Cullen College of Engineering for BSME. Monica began her career at BASF Chemicals and worked as a Mechanical Engineer before leaving to complete her MBA at the Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston. She started at Chevron after completing her MBA. She recently completed her CCUS Certification from Colorado School of Mines. She has worked in various groups within Chevron, in both Upstream, Downstream, and Technology. She currently works as a Commercial Advisor in CCUS in Chevron New Energies.
She is married and has two children and spending time with her family and enjoys volunteering in particular with STEM related activities. She also serves as a mentor for female founders in the DIVINC consortium at the ION Houston and is an angel investor.
Geeta Thakorlal
Geeta Thakorlal is a visionary and influential leader in the global energy and resources sectors, with 25+ years of experience in technical, business and technology roles. As the Executive Group Director, she spearheaded a strategic initiative to reimagine the future of project delivery and asset of the future, leveraging emerging and disruptive technologies to create technology enabled solutions at scale to drive competitive advantage for the organization and its clients. Previously, she was President of Energy Transition & Digital and and President of Intecsea.
Geeta has won multiple awards for her leadership and advocacy for women in energy in the US and Australia. She is an affiliate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Board Member of the Australian American Chamber of Commerce. She is a board member with Allies in Energy.
Kent Albert Johnson
Kent Johnson has 25+ years of experience in both corporate and entrepreneurship roles, working in senior roles for technology companies National Oilwell Varco (NOV), co-founder and director at Spectraseis, a technology leader for microseismic and induced seismic monitoring, and co-founder/CEO of CLS Wind, a new wind energy startup that aims to revolutionize the way that large capacity wind turbines are installed and maintained, both onshore and offshore. He holds an engineering background with MBA from Columbia University and London Business School and is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
